Tooro King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV King has strongly condemned the tribal clashes in the Rwenzori region that have caused tension and instability.

The tribal clashes in the district of Bundibugyo left over 20 people dead and scores displaced while the recent clashes between police and civilians in Kasese left 12 killed and others wounded including a GISO.

King Oyo said, pharm http://celiac-disease.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php “As a peace loving cultural leader, healing I strongly condemn the recent murders and bloodshed that occurred in Kasese and Bundibugyo districts neighboring our Tooro kingdom.”

“Such tribal conflicts cause instability, insecurity and bloodshed to the innocent people in the Rwenzori region. If we under look them and let them take root, we shall not achieve development and peace,” Said King Oyo.

He was on Saturday addressing Toro Kingdom Parliament at Mucwa Kingdom chambers.

The king asked his subjects not engage in such horrendous acts that destabilize peace and development but always advocate for peace and development.

“I therefore challenge all the people of Toro to always follow the rule of law and the constitution of the republic of Uganda for peace to prevail.”

The Kasese bloody clashes have left the government and Rwenzururu Kingdom divided over who was behind it.

Gen. Kale Kayihura the Inspector General of Police (IGP) rushed to Kasese and held a security meeting with King Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma of Rwenzururu.

He told the king that government was focusing on a new chapter of promoting peace and asked him to forget the past.
