His Majesty Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukiidi IV, the King of Tooro launched an immunization program at Kiyombya Health Centre in Bunyangabu district as he started touring Kingdom counties ahead of the 23rd Coronation Anniversary (Empango) celebrations to take place on Saturday, 8th September 2018 at the Royal Palace of Tooro, Karuziika in Fort Portal.
Immunization is safe, works and saves the lives of children. I asked all parents to immunize their children and urged the men to escort their wives and children for immunization – KING OYO
King Oyo also toured Bunyangabu district and commended its leadership for the developmental activities realized so far. The King asked the people of Bunyangabu to use the opportunity of their newly granted district to foster development.
Am happy to note that a number of developmental projects have been achieved since Bunyangabu was granted a district status in the last financial year – KING OYO
The King called upon all stakeholders to take advantage of the district status to mobilize the public to increase their household income.
Use the district status as an opportunity to mobilize and unite the masses to increase their household income. In so doing we shall develop Tooro together – KING OYO
The King urged his subjects to use the established Kingdom structures to access information about the Kingdom’s developmental projects and programs. His Majesty also asked all his subjects to embrace government’s education and health programs to fight illiteracy and disease respectively.
King Oyo also donated a refrigerator to the health facility after Caroline Katende the in-charge informed the King that all the fridges at the health facility broke down. “Our health facility lacks a cold chain storage of immunization vaccines because all our refrigerators broke down” Katende said.

James Mugarama the Bunyangabu District Chairperson stated that as per the King’s directive, the new district has since its inception prioritized education. “A number of students have benefited from the district bursaries at different levels and as a district we have plans of constructing more schools especially in hard to reach areas of the district” Mugarama said.
The Tooro Kingdom Prime Minister on behalf of the King invited all the people of Bunyangabu to the King’s 23rd Coronation Anniversary (Empango) Celebrations which was dedicated to the youth in the Kingdom. He appealed to the youths in Bunyangabu to team up with the Kingdom Youth Minister to organize a successful event next month.
